IS THERE A TREATMENT FOR SHINGLES?

Shingles is caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, which remains in your body for life after you’ve recovered from chickenpox.1,2 Almost all adults 50 years and older already carry the inactive virus that causes shingles.1–3

If you have had chickenpox, your risk of developing shingles increases with age.1,2

Treatment may reduce shingles symptoms severity and duration of the illness and, depending on your symptoms, may weaken the virus and/or help with pain relief.1,2

If you suspect you have shingles, see your doctor or pharmacist.
